new adventures

I LOVE his big boy wind suit.

The cutest boy in the world.

Always time for a pose, even if he can barely move because of so many layers. LOL

I LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE my family!

Papa, Cason and Grammy

Thirteen months and counting...I really can't believe it. Cason is exploring new boundaries every day, but with one hand hanging on for dear life. This weekend Cason also started crawling on his hands and knees like "normal." It definitely slows him down and he looks a little awkward, but for what ever reason, he has decided to crawl like most children do. However, if he is on a mission, he relies on his perfected army crawl.
The ever-so-stubborn top teeth have both FINALLY broke through. I was beginning to wonder if Cason was going to be tortured forever by those bad boys. He also has a big boy tooth on the back top left side. He's quite the garbage disposal already, without and teeth. Can you imagine how much he will eat when he gets a mouth full of teeth? I may need to look in to another full-time job. ;-)
We recently had several days of ice and snow and were able to go out in it this time. Over Christmas when it snowed, Cason had a cold so we didn't get him out in it at that time. Healthy and covered in many layers of clothing, Cason experienced snow for the first time. He pretty much sat like a statue for the first few minutes. Whether or not it was because of fear or just the inability to move because of all the clothes I'm not sure, but he eventually started picking the snow up and eating it. I know, shocker huh?!?!? We ran around for a while and Chris pulled him around in a trash can lid. Cason loved it. The next day my parents came over and Cason rolled around in the snow with papa and ate some snow that Grammy gave him. All in all, the snow was a success.
Chris and I have been so busy with work and Cason. Chris has been playing basketball with a group of his co-workers. A tournament was scheduled at the end of January, but was postponed because of the ice and snow that we got. It is supposedly going to take place in March, but he hasn't been told a definite date yet. Cason and I supported our hubby/daddy at a few practices and can't wait to be is biggest fans at the tournament.
I began a new adventure in 2010...teaching. I'm teaching a Nursing Process lab for ECU on Tuesday afternoons and so far, I love it. Several of my ER coworkers have been teaching for quite some time, but I've always been reluctant to take the plunge and go for it. I mean, no pressure or anything, but I'm responsible for the student's understanding of the material. If I don't do a good job, they might be horrible nurses. They might hurt someone...or kill someone. Can you tell, I majorly over-analyzed this? I had been thinking and praying about it and had finally had a peace about the situation that if it was suppposed to happen it would, and I had talked to Chris about wanting to look in to it. Then, the very next day a professor at ECU that also works part-time in the ER approached me and asked if I would be interested. I felt like this was the big billboard I had been asking God for so I jumped on it. It has been even better than I imagined. Hopefully, that's how the students feel too. I'll keep you posted on my newest journey.
Well, I think you are caught up for now. We are excited for this weekend because we are going to Haworth to see family. It's also Valentine's Day and Carla's birthday on the 16th. Chris asked me what I wanted for Valentines Day and I said, "I don't want or need anything. I just want you to be romantic and do something really sweet from the heart." That was followed by silence and a deer in the headlights look. I'm pretty sure he would much rather me just tell him something I want. I'll let you know how it goes...I'm anxious to see myself.
