Cason is ONE!!!!!

Cason's birthday cake

Such a big boy. He loved his #1 cake.

I'm one...yay!!!!!

Posing with Aunt Kelsey and Aunt Kortney after they put his "convertible" together.

Such an angel face. I just want to kiss those precious cheeks.

No more, no more. He was done with the haircut.

Right after his big boy haircut

Playing with his new toy

He loves his car, and yes, it's completely put together now.

Playing with Jax through the window.

I can't believe it...our precious little boy is one!!! It has been such an amazing year. He isn't walking just yet, but he's getting close. Over the last week or so his confidence has grown and his curiosity has gotten the best of him. He's standing up on everything in his path and walking along inch by inch. And our little army crawler is now enhancing his crawling skills on all different terrains and through his own made up obstacle courses. We catch him under our bar stools, under his high chair, squeezing in small spaces behind chairs, up the stairs and under our dining room table. He's a busy little bee.
With his birthday, came a new class at daycare. In his new class, he only takes one mid-day nap, which we are still adjusting to. The first week he looked exhausted every time Chris picked him up. Cason is the youngest and only kid in his class that isn't walking. He must feel the pressure to keep up, because he has really stepped to the plate and practiced since he's been with his new classmates. One of his teachers works with his class on sign language, so I'm excited to see him learn some signs. Cason is keeping up the same habits in his new class, the teacher told me today that they hardly even know he's there because he's so good and just entertains himself all the time. I'm sure you can guess, I was one proud mama.
Cason still only has his two lower teeth. His top two front teeth have been "about to" pop through for a month now. I mean, you can see them so clearly, but they WILL NOT come through. If anyone has any tricks that don't involve cutting his gums let me know. Although, I've even considered that several of our sleepless nights...just kidding (kind of). When we brush his teeth with our little finger tip tooth brush I even brush a little on the hard side, but no luck. I've never been a very patient person, and I've definitely never been very good with not having control, and when it's something do to with my son, I've found I'm worse than ever. What's a mom to do?
Cason had a wonderful birthday party with lots of friends and family. Between Christmas and his birthday, he made out like a super star. We got a puppy, Jax, right after Cason's birthday. We knew we needed to do something because our poor, sheltered son was scared to death of animals. Our sneaky plot worked. Cason has opened up to Jax and is very intrigued by him. Are they best friends yet? No, but we are making great progress. Baby steps.
