"Look mom, I can do tricks!"
Getting kisses from Audrey.
Cason and me at the park.
I just realized I never told you all Cason's weight and height from his 6 month visit. Are you ready for this? He weighed a whopping: 16.10# (15-25%) and was an enormous 24.75 inches (10-12%)!!! He's may be little but he has a personality the size of a giant, and adorable rolls all over too. :-)
The baby food venture has been an interesting one to say the least. He still loves carrots and enjoys sweet potatoes just as much. The green beans are another story...he definately doesn't like the green vegetables. However, this weekend at Chris' parents Carla and I fed him the green beans with sweet potatoes and we had more luck. He would actually eat them finally. I just had to trick the little booger. We have since tried peaches with no luck, but the pears tonight passed with flying colors. We will try the peaches again next week and see if we have a better outcome. With the introduction of baby food came something I was hoping to avoid, something I was hoping Cason would not inherit from his mother (so my parents have told me): constipation. Cason started having trouble last week and this weekend was kinda fussy after an entire day of no poopy. I gave him a suppository Sunday night with minimal results and on Monday morning we had the worst morning yet. Cason and I were lying in bed and he started grunting and his face turned bright cherry red and then he started screaming. I took his diaper off and found a rather large piece of poopy that was NOT budging with his forceful pushes, definately not for lack of effort. I did what any mommy would do (and the fact that I'm a nurse came in handy) and assisted my precious little baby boy with getting the obviously too large clay-like poopy out. We went through this process not once, not twice, but THREE times. I finally decided to take his diaper off, put in another suppository and walk around squeezing his cheeks together to hold it in so it could really do it's job. He had another BM before we left for daycare that came out a little, not a lot, easier. His teacher said he had some trouble at daycare that day too. :-( That night Chris gave him some apple juice and the next morning I was happy to find a diaper filled with normal consistency poo. I've never been so happy to see so much poo in my life. We even did a little poopy celebration dance together. LOL. Hopefully, we won't have this problem again. Wishful thinking I'm afraid.
We spent this past weekend at Chris' parents house and had a very relaxing visit. It was nice because Chris played in a Saturday only tournament and was home early Sat afternoon. We had a good opportunity to just hang out and take it easy. We even got home at a decent time so Cason kept his normal bed-time routine. A wonderful weekend!!!
