Update

Well, the cabinet guy is finished for a while. He will come back when the doors are ready to be put on. Everything looks so good. It's looking more and more like a home instead of just plain white walls. Dad has a little more siding to put on the back porch and still has the front porch to do. After that, we will be inside! He's going to trim a room and Chris and I will go behind him and stain it. I know, your probably thinking, why don't you guys paint before you trim...I thought the same thing so of course, I asked. Dad said that if you paint before you trim then you have to go back over the walls and clean saw dust off and you will probably have dings from hitting the walls with the long pieces of trim. I was like...DUH...why didn't I think of that. That's why I'm a nurse and my dad builds houses.

Anyways, things might kind of slow down for a while. My uncle Darrell (mom's brother), was diagnosed with lung cancer that spread to his brain and hip 4 months ago. It's been a terrible 4 months for Darrell. They tried to just do chemotherapy, but it wasn't near strong enough and all the places grew. They are inoperable, so they decided to do radiation. He began having trouble with fluid building in the left lung due to the fact it had collapsed from lack of oxygen. The tumor has blocked air flow to the entire left lung and is pressing on the vena cava (a major blood vessel that travels down the middle of your body). He's having such a hard time breathing, he also began having trouble with fluid building in his collapsed left lung. They have put a chest tube in and tried to seal the inside of his lung with powder to stop the drainage. It hasn't worked well enough yet, so they are going to try again probably tomorrow. His radiation has been on hold now for a week due to the severity of the fluid in his lung. They are in the process of getting that going again. He was supposed to have 15 treatments to his lungs and 10 to the brain. I think he has only had 3-4 at this time. My mother has been back and forth between here and Tyler for the last 4 months, and has been so strong. Her and Darrell are and always have been very close. My dad went and stayed this past week down there too. He's working on Darrell's house. Darrell was in the process of remodeling.
