I know this blog is generally about Cason, but I'm going to speak about Chris and I today. And yes, it may be a little mushy, sorry. Hey, just bare with me for this ONE post. LOL! We just celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary on Sept 24. I can't believe it...4 years already!!! It's been such an amazing four years too. There is no doubt in my mind that Chris and I were meant for each other. He is my BESTEST friend. The one I love to tell everything too.
Most of you know our story already, but some may not...and this is MY blog and I want to tell it, so here it goes. Chris was raised in Haworth, OK, and is the middle of 3 boys. His older brother, Alan went to East Central University for college, and Chris wanted to attend the same college. When he graduated from high school he came up to ECU. Alan played golf at ECU all 4 years he attended college. I was born and raised in Ada and attended ECU's nursing program. I took speech my first semester and met a guy named Cody Jennings, who I became friends with. Cody played golf for ECU. Yup, you're right...with Alan. Chris and Cody became friends and Chris eventually moved in with Cody. I would go to Cody's to hang out and there was always this really quiet guy that stayed back but had the most adorable country accent. And yes, I'm talking about Chris. Chris never really talked to me much except for one night I was sitting in the living room and Chris was playing music off his computer. "I Melt" by Rascall Flatts came on and Chris walked by and said, "I think of you when I hear this song." (He's going to kill me for telling y'all this.) After that, Chris went with Cody and Cody's parents to Panama City the same time my family and I did and stayed in the same condo. Chris and I were "just friends" until January, however, we hung out and talked every day. During the time that we were "just friends" I confided in my friend and co-worker, Carrie Bailey, who was dating Alan Kates, Chris' brother. Carrie and I worked at Maurices together and left Maurices to work at Zacharey's together. Pretty amazing how all the pieces fit together huh? Well, I will never forget the day I was talking to Carrie and she said, "Well, I think if you guys get together it will probably be for good." Man, she's good!!! I met Chris' parents and younger brother, Kyle, in November when I went to a basketball game in Rattan with him. We talked the entire way there and back, absolutely no radio. We've been talking that much since. :-) (Hey, I said this is my blog and I can be as mushy as I want.)
In the four years we've been together, we've bought 3 acres, built a house and had an amazing son. I wouldn't want to go through any of that with anyone else. Chris is patient while I'm a wee bit high strung. He's very quick-witted while sometimes I'm a little slow! He over analyzes things while sometimes I act a little too quickly. His actions are based on information and well thought out while mine tend to be based on emotions. I knew Chris was a wonderful man and husband, but I can't even begin to tell you how amazing he is as a father. He does the bed-time routine 95% of the time, and did it all by himself when I worked until 11:00pm, but never complained. He takes Cason on endless wagon rides and walks outside, and as you've seen from many pictures they love taking naps together. Our first fours years have been exciting, trying at times and very eventful. I hope this is a sign of many more wonderful years together.

Happy Anniversary! I loved reading your story. It's one of my favorite things to learn about couples. Thanks for sharing. And of course, your little guy is just a stud!
