family time

We have had such a good week. We got to see so many of our family members this week, it's crazy. On Wednesday, Cason and I journeyed up to Moore, OK to see April and Schafer. We had a lot of fun. It was pretty cute...Schafer would think he wanted to hold Cason and would hop up into the chair or the couch quickly, but as soon as I got Cason close he had a look of horror on his face. You could tell he had no idea what he was supposed to do with him...and there was no way he wanted to be still long enough to hold him. He is a busy little bee...a really adorable little bee. :) I can't wait until Cason gets older and the two of them can be good buddies.

We were also lucky enough to see Mark, Carla and Kyle...not once, but twice this week. Haworth was playing pretty close so we were able to go to the game and visit with them. The game last night was in Crowder so Alan, Carrie, Addison and Carley (she didn't have much of a choice though) also went to the game. Yup, that's right, we got to see them too. It was awesome. Once again, Addy loved Cason. She kept wanting to hold him and kiss him (see picture). She will get so excited she just shakes. It's hilarious. She is going to be an amazing big sister and mommy's little helper.

Cason also spent time with his Grammy and Papa this weekend. (see picture) My dad has been working out of town, so, it had been 2 weeks since he had seen Cason. He went over to their house yesterday for several hours. And this morning...are you ready for this...he went to his first "men's breakfast." No women allowed. My dad, grandpa and uncle all go to breakfast at 8:00am at Braums every Sunday. They have done it for several years now. Of course, dad has been asking since before Cason arrived if he could go. In fact, I think if there was anyway to just take my belly when I was pregnant he would have jumped on the chance. Well, last night, I called and asked if dad wanted to come get him for breakfast this morning. He didn't believe me at first, but was very excited when he realized I was serious. So, Cason went, was well-behaved and everyone had fun. He wore his camo and ou beanie for the occassion (see picture). I'm sure there will be many more Braum's breakfasts in his future.

Cason scooted this week!!! I had noticed a couple of times that he had moved up in the cradle, so, I layed him on his belly to see for myself and....he did it! He will hike his knees up under him like he is about to take off. He will also straighten his legs and get up on his toes which makes his butt go up in the air (see picture). He's doing tricks already!!!! Cason has also found his hands. They are constantly in his mouth. He doesn't waste time with one or two fingers either...it's the whole thing. He's getting so big.

Well, thank you all for your prayers last week for immunizations, unfortunately, I have to ask for them again. When we got to the doctor, I got Cason undressed and was talking to the nurse about how chubby his legs had gotten, and how nice it would be for the shots and she said, "You guys are getting those today. He has to be 2 months, not 8 weeks." (which wasn't until today) I asked why we were there then and she didn't know. She just let us leave and we rescheduled for Tuesday at 2:15pm. They have a new secretary, and she didn't catch it. I had no idea it was like that, but now I do. Lesson learned. The nurse went ahead and weighed Cason though since he was undressed and he weighed 11# 2 oz. He doesn't miss many, or should I say ANY, meals. :)

Sorry this ended up being so long. We had a wonderful week. Filled with lots of firsts:

1: scooting

2: finding hands

3: first play-date with cousin Schafer...first of many

4: first Haworth basketball game...again...first of many

5: first "men's breakfast"...and once again...first of many

Wow, what an amazing, loving week. We are SOOOOO lucky. We love all of you a ton.
